Procedures:
- On different classroom walls, teacher hangs flash cards of target country's food and gift stores.
- Teacher states names of store types; students provide choral response.
- Teacher sets different items near each of the "stores." Teacher states names of each item in each of the "stores."
- Bakery flashcard: picture of target country's birthday cake
- Supermarket: plates, plastic ware
- Bookstore: books
- Music store: CD's
- Department store: toys
- Using a puppet, teacher models and recycles the shopping dialogue introduced in the previous lesson.
- Teacher models the dialogue with student volunteer.
- Students work in pairs to practice dialogue.
- Student volunteers present their shopping for the birthday party dialogues.
