The purpose of this module is to identify the characteristics of world languages, examine their history and impact on culture, and compare and contrast these languages in order to demonstrate how languages are similar and reflect their social and historical contexts. The ultimate goal is to increase awareness of the need for multi-language capability in an ever-changing, increasingly interdependent world.
