Objective(s): Students will be able to:
- Introduce and describe family members shown in a family album using technology and the dramatic arts.

Procedures:
- In the computer lab, teacher uses either toy microphone or two telephones to interview student volunteers about their family's, its members,
nationality, feelings, and age.
- Teacher uses a presentational device to show a sample KidPix slideshow of a family biography (See attached sample).
- Depending upon on the level of the teacher and students' technological ability, students will create either an autobiographical HyperStudio
stack, WebPage, KidPix or PowerPoint slideshow about their family. Information should include family members, nationality, feelings, and age.
- Students can refer to their notebooks for sentence structures.
- For each of the software programs, it is possible for the students to record their voices reading their descriptions of their family members.
- Upon completion, students can present their slideshow to classmates.
- Classmates have the opportunity to ask questions about the presenter's family.
Materials:
- Toy microphone or two toy telephones
- Teacher generated sample of KidPix/HyperStudio/PowerPoint show (see attached sample)
- Computer lab equipped with one of the above software programs
- One computer per student
- Assessment Rubric
Assessment: Note frequency and quality of students' participation when describing family members in their oral presentation of slideshow.
Evaluation: Assess students' presentation using a rubric to evaluate presentation.
